This series explores the persistence of cultural identities within contexts of rapid transformation. From the mountainous regions of southwest China to the borderlands of Southeast Asia, the images observe what endures: textiles, postures, rituals, and silent forms of transmission.
Rather than adopting a descriptive documentary approach, The Thread Remains offers a sensitive reading of the tensions between disappearance, adaptation and continuity.
A work on living memory, what persists without necessarily revealing itself.
