Created in Japan, Mono no Aware explores the Japanese perception of impermanence; the awareness that all things are already in the process of disappearing.

Through quiet images, often stripped of the spectacular, the series seeks less to document a place than to evoke a fragile experience of time: suspended, almost intangible.

The project unfolds through an aesthetic of restraint, distance, slowness, attention to the smallest gestures and to fading light.

Photographing what trembles rather than what declares itself.
